We’ve reached Rebels era !

June ‘Junnie’ Hamne took after Reg for his knowledge for mechanics, caff and taste in women.

Baldar ‘Junior’ Cadel took after Error and embraced his passion for good food and mandolorian culture.

Life couldn’t get any better, until Baldar started to adopt kids:

- Baz the force sensitive Chiss/Mirilian,

- Dok the only sane child of the lot, Chagrian/Nautolan

- Kari-el the Nautolan pyromaniac

- and Fiasco the Zabrak baby who has yet to grow (aka the Disaster Mandos).

Quite a handful for poor Baldar, luckily his childhood friend (and future wife), Pyi, a zeltron , is here to keep him afloat.

It took a very long time for mister oblivious to realize his sentiments for her, and even longer to confess (just like Reg, like father like son)

June, while delighted to see her brother trip over his own feet everytime he sees Pyi, she herself found her own soulmate. A #togruta daredevil pod racer with a nerd energy named To Togro. They met after Reg took them to their first pod race. And let’s just say, it was love at first roaring of the engine.

Unlike Baldar, June actually had the balls to invite her for a little dangerous escapade.

She never missed any of To’s races and is the first to greet her at the finish like

It is muscle memory that makes Ezra slip his knife back into its sheath, because he has no thoughts for anything or anyone besides the girl across the room. She lies on her back on the interrogation table, strapped down, pale, eyes closed, blood dried and crusted in trickles down her face from a dozen separate cuts.

Ezra is beside her in an instant, ripping off the restraints that bind her arms and legs down. She doesn’t even notice.

“Sabine?”

She responds with a weak whimper. It’s a sound that should come from a wounded animal, not the fearless Jedi he knows.

He takes a risk, and runs his fingers across her cheek, brushing the sweat-damp hair from her face.

Now she gasps, lurching away from his touch with a choked, “no, no, please, please no—”

“Sabine. Sabine! I’m not going to hurt you—it’s me! It’s Ezra!”

Her struggling stops and her tear-damp eyelashes flutter; she looks without seeing.

“Ezra,” she whispers, trying the name out slowly. “Ez-ra. Ezzsraaah…?”

And then, oh, praise the stars—a light in her eyes.

“Ezra.”

“Yeah. Ezra.”

She raises a hand, shakily, searching blindly until her fingers brush the cold beskar of his helmet. They trace across it, following the shape, and even with the solid layer between them, he can almost feel her touch on his skin.

Her hand drops down and she stares at him for a long, heart-stopping second. Then she smiles hazily.

“You have wonderful eyes.”

Ezra can’t help his snort of laughter. He took the Creed years before they met. She doesn’t even know what his eyes look like.

“Did they drug you, or are you just having one of your weird Force moments?” he asks as he slides his arms under her, lifting her as gently as he can.

She rests her head on his chestplate and taps the beskar. “You’re shiny.”

Both, probably, he decides.

So I had a ton of fun going through your rebels posts (I've been ranting about how much I love rebels to my friends for years, and part of that has been about how I <i>need</i> more information about Kallus's past) but I also think the most slept-on duo is the unholy chaos abomination of Kallus & Chopper. If they put their minds together, you can bet Kallus will have made a 12-step plan to make Chopper's shenanigans more efficient, because they are nothing if not trolls lol

Having watched the donghua's version of the Gilded Banquet massacre and it's expansions on the Yong'an King & Queen and Prince An Le... I just really don't feel the revised version of this arc. The og's stakes are so much realer, the conflict feels much more human and idk I just think named humans make for more interesting antagonists than faceless ghosts
